Work Cover Hearing Assessments

Working with heavy machinery or in environments with high noise levels significantly increases the risk of developing industrial deafness. If you’re in a noisy workplace, prioritising your hearing health is essential.

ONDC Hearing Specialists are here to support you if you need a work cover hearing assessment for suspected industrial deafness. Upon receiving a referral from the appropriate insurance company, our audiologists will perform an in-depth hearing assessment, and discuss all your hearing and work history details in order to build a complete picture of your hearing health. This information, in addition to the audiologists’ knowledge, experience, and use of state of the art diagnostic equipment, will provide a clear and comprehensive diagnosis and recommended actions in a detailed report.

We will work together with WorkCover insurance providers to support you through your diagnosis and treatment.

Conditional Driver’s License

In South Australia, hearing loss can impact your eligibility for specific driving licences. The National Transport Commission sets safety regulations for drivers with hearing impairments, particularly for those operating heavy vehicles, bulk dangerous goods vehicles, or public passenger vehicles.

If you meet certain requirements and use hearing aids, you may qualify for a conditional licence.

At ONDC, our Audiologists perform assessments to evaluate your suitability for either conditional or unconditional licences.
